Intervention Künstlerhaus

Intervencia rozšírenia galérie Kunstlerhausu v centre Viedne spočíva v otvorenosti budovy smerom von a kontraste medzi novou a starou architektúrou. Strategická lokalizácia intervencie prináša 1800 m² nových výstavných plôch a viac nových funkcií pod jednou strechou, ktoré sú prepojené s celkovým systémom budovy v podzemí, ale zostávajú aj naďalej funkčne nezávislé. Jednoduchá vyvýšená forma a perforovaná fasáda reprezentuje koncept mestského magnetu, ktorý svojou hĺbkou a zaujímavými tieniacimi efektami láka nielen milovníkov umenia.

Intervention of the extension K/Haus is based on freedom, communication and contrast between new and old building. The strategic localisation brings additional 1800m² of exhibition space and more public functions in one object, which is connected to the whole exibition system in the underground, but is still independt. Simple lifted form and perforated facade represent the concept of floating city magnet, which attracts not only the art lovers by creating interesting depth and shining effects.

Obidve časti rodinného domu stoja na opačných princípoch: otovrená časť predstavuje extrovertívny charakter domu, výhľady do širokého okolia, introvertívna časť predstavuje intimitu, zohľadnenie malého merítka priesotru a redukciu vonkajších podnetov. Dom je rozdelený línou, ktorá predstavuje hranicu medzi týmito dvoma rozdielnymi svetmi.
Vhodná kombinácia týchto dvoch extrémov v bývaní predstavuje maximálne využitie priestoru domu v roznych častiach dna a v roznych každodenných situáciách.

The two parts of the family house are based on opposite principles: open part represents extrovert character of the house and the vistas overlooking the broad surrounding countryside; the introvert part represents intimacy, taking into account the smaller space and reduction of the outside inputs. The house is divided by a clear line symbolizing the border between these two different worlds. An appropriate combination of these two extremes represents the maximum utilization of the available space in various parts of the day and in various daily situations. The mere fact that the clients are big admirers of Mies van der Rohe was a big challenge.
